U.S. business trip 2 - Hancock Shaker Village -

We didn't know how close Hartford was to Hancock Shaker Village until Irene told about it.
She seemed to know exactly what we liked, as I had collected Shaker's boxes before.

It was a 2-hour-drive.

Shakers was one of successful religious groups from 18th century till early 20th century.
Each family lived close each other and had a huge farm. Their seeds were well sold, so you might have seen their seed boxes somewhere.

from Shaker Workshops website  click here!

I had those seed boxes and shaker oval boxes which have a special design and are easily recognized.

As you can see, Yes, I bought a set of boxes!

Nantucket baskets and Shaker boxes ... which reminisced the old America.

At a museum shop, there was a basket raffle! Why don't we join it?!
We wrote down our name and address and crossed our fingers to hope that we will be selected!
